CSULB Commencement 2024: See how grads are celebrating on social media

Published May 13, 2024

More than 16,000 Cal State Long Beach undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate in this year’s Commencement ceremonies May 19-23 at Angel Stadium.

With commencement just around the corner, soon-to-be CSULB alumni have been celebrating their accomplishments with motivational posts on Instagram.

Here’s a sampling of some of them:

“Over the past three years, I have prioritized my education above everything else and proven that I can achieve anything I want," Joseph 'JoJo' Chaparro said. “Although I did not grow up in a family of college graduates, I hope to serve as an inspiration to others.”

“I would not be about to graduate with an MSW if I didn’t have the support, love and encouragement of my parents,”  Wynn Nguyen said. “I know that it wasn’t easy to watch me slowly dying in my addiction. Whenever I ask them what they want for birthdays, their answer is always the same “to keep doing what I’m doing.”

“The past three years of my life in college have been the most challenging yet incredible chapter,” Fuey Saetern said. “Cheers to friendships that feel like family and memories that'll stick around forever. As I close this chapter of my life, new chapters await, and my heart is full of gratitude for the journey.”
